Deliverly began from a recognition of the increased need by small businesses and people maintaining social distancing for local delivery in a COVID-19 affected New Zealand. It makes use of local delivery people, typically ride share drivers, to pick-up and deliver all manner of items, from food to pharmacy supplies to groceries and more.
Our guiding philosophy is arranging a delivery should be simple and quick. That’s why we’ve opted to enable delivery orders to be made directly from our website, without the need to sign up for an account or download an app. This way, you can use Deliverly right away and whenever you need.
Deliverly is a New Zealand owned and operated business.
Deliverly is a website that enables businesses and customers to quickly and easily organise pick-up and local delivery by drivers or cyclists in their area. The delivery people are typically ride share drivers.
FOR BUSINESSES
For orders from customers wanting delivery, you can obtain a price from our website, add that to their order and complete the online form to trigger the delivery process. We’ll send a delivery person to the pick-up location right away.
Or you can direct the customer to organise a pick up themselves by completing the form on our website (www.deliverly.co.nz).
FOR CUSTOMERS
Customers wanting to have items they’ve ordered delivered, simply complete and submit the online form.
FOR DELIVERY PARTNERS
Registered delivery partners will receive a phone message with an outline of the new job in their area. The first delivery person to respond positively will be assigned the job, at which time they’ll receive additional information to enable them to complete the delivery.
Deliverly delivery partners can take any item that’s easy for one person to load into a medium-sized car. Suitable items can include food, pharmacy supplies, online commerce purchases, gardening supplies and so on.
Until we get more established and ensure our reaction times are lightening fast, we recommended using alternative arrangements for the delivery of hot food. However, Deliverly is an excellent way to receive cold food items from your favourite local spot.
Deliverly is for anyone who needs a pick up or delivery service. It’s especially useful for small businesses that need a delivery service during COVID-19 Alert Level 3 but don’t want the hassle of having to organise it themselves. Or businesses that only need to do deliveries every now, such as when their staff are out on other jobs or otherwise not available.
To register to receive Deliverly jobs, simply complete and submit the online registration form here (www.deliverly.co.nz/driver_registration). Once we’ve reviewed it and confirmed things are in order, we’ll let you know that you’re onboard. You’ll then begin receiving notifications about delivery jobs.
We believe in being transparent about our pricing. Our formula for calculating the charge to businesses/customers is:
Price = $0.50 booking fee + $1.20 base rate + (distance (km) x $1.40)
We have a minimum charge of $6.00
Prices are in New Zealand dollars and are subject to change. In the event they do change, we’ll reflect it right here on this page.
We transfer 82% of the delivery charge to our delivery partners.
Our charges and fees are the same irrespective of whether the delivery partner uses a vehicle or bicycle.
So what does this all mean in practice? We charge customers and businesses a little less than ride share platforms, but we share the same as or more of the charge with our delivery partners.
Funds are disbursed to delivery partners fortnightly on a Friday.
Our main focus initially is Auckland, but we’ll happily accept registration from drivers in other parts of New Zealand and would facilitate business/customer deliveries anywhere in the country if we have a delivery person available. If a business or customer requests an order in a location where we don’t have a delivery person available, we’ll let you know right away and will refund your payment.
It would be great if you could help us out, wherever you are, by spreading the word about Deliverly and our clever little website.
We strongly encourage our delivery partners to become familiar with and follow New Zealand Government guidelines for people working during the outbreak, in particular the guidelines for working in physical or close contact jobs (New Zealand Government COVID19 Website). Those guidelines set out the circumstances in which face masks and gloves should be worn.
In addition, we ask all delivery partners to inform us immediately if they suspect they have COVID-19 or are identified as having had close contact with someone who has COVID-19.
Our aim is for Deliverly to support social distancing and reduce the risk of transmission through the use of our platform by businesses, customers and delivery partners.
